Our goal
Search the Falls is committed to making the Niagara Region easier to explore for everyone, including people with disabilities. We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA and the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA).
What we do
- Use semantic HTML and ARIA landmarks so screen readers can navigate the site.
- Maintain sufficient colour contrast in our design system.
- Provide visible keyboard focus on every interactive element.
- Label icon-only buttons and form fields for assistive technology.
- Support responsive layouts that work down to a 320px viewport.
- Test new features against keyboard navigation and screen-reader use.
Known limitations
Some content comes from business owners and community contributors (photos, listings, reviews) and may not always meet our standards — for example, missing alternative text on user-uploaded images. We work continuously to close these gaps and remove non-compliant content when reported.
