Search the Falls (“we”, “us”) is a community-built tourism discovery platform for the Niagara Region. This policy explains what information we collect, why we collect it, and how you can control it.

Information we collect

  • Account information: email address, display name, username, optional avatar and bio when you create an account.
  • Content you submit: reviews, photos, tips, itineraries, listing submissions, business claims, and similar contributions.
  • Usage data: pages viewed, listings saved, follows, and other interactions used to improve the service.
  • Newsletter: your email address if you subscribe.

How we use information

  • To operate, maintain, and personalize the platform.
  • To moderate content and prevent abuse.
  • To send transactional emails (account, claims, reviews) and, with consent, our newsletter.
  • To produce aggregated, non-identifying analytics.

Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with service providers required to run the platform (hosting, email, authentication) and when legally required.

Your choices

  • Edit your profile or delete your account at any time from your settings.
  • Unsubscribe from the newsletter using the link in any email.
  • Request a copy or deletion of your data by emailing us.
